WHAT'S NEW

support the new joy

Maureen Joy Charter School invites you to purchase a personalized engraved brick and leave a permanent testament of your support for Maureen Joy and our move to the historic Y.E. Smith building in East Durham. The A.J. Fletcher Foundation will provide Maureen Joy with a $1 matching donation for every $2 raised by the Buy-A-Brick campaign. Bricks will be installed on the main walkway of the newly renovated Y.E. Smith campus. It’s a fun, creative way to donate to the cause!

We are now accepting applications for 2013-2014 School Year! Last year, we received nearly 500 applications for fewer than 75 seats at MJCS. This year we expect well over 500 applications but we are expanding into a new campus, so we will have many more available seats and we encourage you to apply. We will hold our lottery on March 14, 2013.

How to apply?

our location

Our exciting move to 107 S Driver St is part of a joint effort with Self-Help Venture Fund to revitalize a turn of the century historic schoolhouse and grow Maureen Joy to its full capacity. This $10 million dollar project will allow us to serve more families and meet the increasing demand for educational excellence in Durham.
